Mya Celebrates 16 years in the Music Industry

Yesterday, Mya sent a message out to her devoted fans by thanking them for standing by her side for 16 years. Mya also dropped a bomb that she will be releasing "Sweet XVI" otherwise known as "Sweet 16" to the world on April 21 2014. This EP will include 6 brand new tracks and is a follow up to her "With Love" EP that was released Valentines day of this year. 

Mya released her self-titled debut album April 21st 1998 and has since become a Grammy award winning artist with several accolades.

Kardashian Crazy?

I have a new found love for Khloe Kardashian. I can't explain it but it's real. I've recently become obsessed with Keeping up with the Kardashisans (late? maybe.)  Yes, it very clear that Kim Kardashian is the golden child, but I think Khloe can take her. Most recently, Khloe has been showing a lot more of her personality outside of being Mrs. Lamar Odom since she has filed for divorce. She seems more down to earth, mature, and authentic. I'm all the way here for it. Rumors have been swirling that she is now dating Rapper "The Game" and even though I might be a tad jealous, I love it! Who's your favorite Kar-DASH-girl? ;)

A Refined... "Thug"

I have a recently become obsessed with the reality show "Marrying The Game" which airs on VH1. The one thing I love about watching this show is the dose of reality. This show airs rap star The Game in a completely different light. 

The world knew The Game as a hardcore rapper from the rough streets of Compton, CA. However, this showcases a softer rap star who is committed to his family and the mother of his children. Their real life relationship struggle is no holds barred and definitely keeps my attention. 

Can I aspire to have a husband like this one day? ... A girl can dream can't she? ;-)

Oldie but Goodie.... Fiona Apple "Criminal"

My very first taste of pop/rock. Fiona Apple.  Its hard to explain Fiona Apple. She is just .. different. Fiona's debut album "Tidal" was released in 1996 and offered so much to the industry. The lead single from the album "Criminal" even earned her a Grammy nomination.

Fiona went on to release three more albums however, none would hold the success of her debut album.

Someone please tell Jhene Aiko to stop teasing us!! Earlier this week Jhene finally released the rest of "Comfort Inn Ending" which she leaked a sample of a few months back. The No I.D. produced track speaks volumes to what her "Souled Out" album is sure to bring us.

Danity Kane Announces Reunion...*Updated*

Early this week members of the girl group Danity Kane set twitter on fire with the news they were reuniting as a unit. Along with this message was the hint to have everyone tune in to the 2013 VMAs for exclusive information or performance?!?!?!... however,  the "announcement" was the group was reuniting and D-Woods would not be returning along with NO performance.

Speaking for myself I was very disappointed. I was under the impression that a performance will be given and there was going to be this awesome night of one of my favorite girl groups returning against all odds. I couldn't have been the only one salty...

antywho... in the mean time peep the group's new look along with a performance of my favorite track from their "Welcome to the Dollhouse" album "Lights Out"

Ciara "Body Party"

Ciara has finally released the full length version of her newest single "Body Party" written by her beau Future. .. and I love it. I hope this record is enough to push the sales of her upcoming album "One Woman Army"  I'm ready to see the choreography, Ciara never disappoints !

Oldie but Goodie... Brownstone "5 Miles to Empty"

Brownstone is one of my favorite girl groups from the 90's.  Although their stint in the music industry was not as long as I would have hoped, I am thankful I am able to sit back and enjoy these ladies and their amazing vocal ability.

 Goosebumps. This photo is so old, peep the wardrobe. I'm not sure where this photo is from because I have yet to see a video even close to this however, you can easily see the chemistry between them. They are the definition. 

 

Baby "Kimye"

........I've already expressed how I felt about this situation here but, my attitude must change as there is a baby on the way. Eventually I'll come around. Peep the baby bump, I wonder how much Kim's body will change. The fact that Kim is so keen on her image, I can imagine a lot of "Kim you're not fat "conversations as well as Kim crying all the time. I'm glad she finally has her baby and can stop pressing the fact of her not being able to get pregnant. Sheesh. I'm so over that story line.

Anhayla "Fumble"

Okay, so.. hands down my favorite track on Trey Songz's album "Chapter V" is the track titled "Fumble". This record just happens to be the most recent release for the artist as well. Can you imagine how excited I got when I saw Anhayla did her own version of the record!?!? It has been on repeat.

My newest go to mix-tape is "Reverie" by Tinashe. Every song on this mix-tape is something different that no other artist embodies in the industry right now. Tinashe is dare I say a modern day Ashanti, with killer dance moves. I'm excited to see her grow.
